Food Aversions

This is so weird and occurs all day long. While nausea tends to just be during the morning, my body changes it's mind on what it wants to eat every single hour.

I baked a ton of cheddar scones the other day to make sure I had enough for the whole week and now I can't even look at the container they're in. The guacamole I made is no longer something I crave. I went to Genuardi's yesterday and almost simultaneously fainted and was sick in the aisles. Looking at the foods was incredibly disgusting.

The problem with this is that I don't always seem to have anything I want to eat in the house (I don't even know what I want to eat) and so I'm hungry all the time. And I don't want to spend extra money. The only time I seem ok is on the weekend when my slave, er, I mean dh, is home with me.

He bought me bagels last weekend so I didn't miss breakfast and whatever I seemed to want, he took me to go get. I loves him.

I'm being very good about portions, so no big worries there. I'm pretty strict with myself so I don't overeat. But the pickiness is driving me nuts!

Back pain

Still a problem for me but at least it's not as bad as the week of my BFP. I feel like I want to BREAK my back in order to make it feel better. Yet another thing I have to try and ignore.

In a completely unrelated note, I'm off to make some delicious guacamole! :-p

Our Appleseed - 5w2d

Week 5, but 6th week...confused yet?

thebump.com:

Your embryo (looking kind of like a tadpole) is starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of hCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests)... which triggers production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone... which trigger all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!

fitpregnancy.com:
Your baby and the yolk sac are about the size of an M&M's candy. A month after conception, your embryo looks something like a newt or a tadpole, and it has gills like a fish! Right now, the embryo of your future baby looks much like the embryo of any other animal—a bird, rabbit, or monkey. It has two tiny cups of pigment on the side of its head that will develop into eyes. Tiny buds that will form the lungs have appeared. The neural tube has closed. One end is flattening and expanding to become the brain, and the other end will become the spine. It's already 10,000 times larger than the fertilized egg. The embryo doesn't have gender characteristics yet, but has little dots where the nipples will be, whether it's a boy or a girl. The heart, a tiny U-shaped tube, will start beating between days twenty-one and twenty-four and is circulating the embryo's own blood. It has a small mouth and lips and fingernails are forming.
